Oprah Winfrey is one of the most influential voices of our time, reaching millions of viewers with her popular daytime talk show, in addition to a popular magazine and a women's cable network she helped launch. In everything she does Oprah has earned a reputation of championing causes that reflect her belief that each of us should take personal responsibility for our lives and help to improve the world. In addition to using entertainment media as a platform to inspire and empower her audience, she is a passionate philanthropist, creating The Oprah Winfrey Foundation to "support the inspiration, empowerment, education, and well-being of women, children and families around the world" and Oprah's Angel Network, which presents cash awards to people who have helped make life better for others.
