Ted Danson (born Edward Bridge Danson III) is an Emmy Award-winning American actor most known for his roles as Sam Malone in the long-running TV sitcom, Cheers, and as Dr. John Becker in the series, Becker. He has also appeared in numerous movies, such as Three Men and a Baby. Ted Danson has also been a longtime environmentalist, a passion that stems back to his early teens. In the 1980s he helped to co-found the American Oceans Campaign, an organization devoted to protecting our oceans and coastal waters. This organization is now known known as Oceana and Ted Danson remains an active Board member.
