25. Peace Proclamations

Another powerful tool to inspire your community to think about peace, as well as to help a national or international movement for peace, is to convince your Mayor or Governor to declare a Peace Proclamation for Peace Day. A similar idea is to urge your local municipality to vote on a Resolution for peace.

Organizations, churches, schools, even individuals can request a Proclamation. In many cases, all you have to do is ask. When requesting a proclamation it's best to submit sample text. When you receive a proclamation, let InternationalDayOfPeace.org know about it. When Peace Proclamation campaigns are coordinated, they can help show how widespread concern for peace really is.
