We
can only proceed towards building a culture of peace one step at a time. But when
we're not sure where that next step should be, it's time to focus on where we'd
like to be.
When we can visualize how we would like our family life or our friendships to
be, or how we wish things could be in our workplace environment, our schools,
our communities, and our world, we will be able to find the paths that will most
effectively lead us toward our goals.
When that feeling of being overwhelmed first begins, and we pause and return to
our natural state of peace, we can ask ourselves whether there is anything we
can do at this moment to bring us closer to where we would like to be.
If there is
something we can do, we can proceed in that direction. If there isn't, we remind
ourselves that we can only take one step at a time towards a goal that we KNOW
we will reach in time. We are walking the right path, and we are right where we
should be.
